Detailed Description: Kakuzu was not dubbed as one of the zombie twins for no reason, that nickname came out of two things, his horrific appearance and the fact that Kakuzu is more or less immortal. Kakuzu has dark brown skin with stitches running across his entire body giving him the appearance of a zombie, to amplify that appearance Kakuzu has a bloodshot green iris and no pupils.
Kakuzu is donned in a black robe with red clouds etched upon it, Kakuzu's Akatsuki robe is closed with the collar popped up covering from his neck to his chin. Kakuzu also wears a headdress with the Takigaukre headband with the emblem scratched out to signify he is no longer affiliated to his village. Lastly Kakuzu wears a sort of covering over his mouth. Kakuzu probably is so covered up to to his horrific appearance that may cause people to notice him as he would stand out.
Background: When still a loyal elite ninja to Takigakure, Kakuzu took on a mission to assassinate Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage. This mission, however, ended in failure before the might of Hashirama's Mokuton jutsu. Despite the insurmountable danger faced in the mission, what awaited his return to his village was the stigma and harsh punishment associated with failure of his objective. In response to this treatment, a wrong levied against a shinobi who had put life and limb on the line for his village, Kakuzu came to hold a violent hatred to his village as he escaped from imprisonment. In his flight from the village, Kakuzu killed the village elders, took their hearts, and fled with knowledge of the village's most prized forbidden techniques. Eventually, he joined Akatsuki, and was given a number of partners, most of whom he killed. Pain stated that his reason for joining Akatsuki was "resources".

Earth Grudge Fear: This technique transforms the user's body into something similar to that of a rag-doll's, which is held together by hundreds of thick black threads. Kakuzu was able to manipulate these threads for many purposes. He was capable of sewing up any injuries that he or others might suffer. However, it appeared that this ability was somewhat limited, as he warned Hidan not to move his head too much after he had sewed it back on, saying that it might fall off again. He could detach parts of his limbs and then manipulate them, to the point that he could even send them underground and then reattach them when he was done with them. He could also use these threads to sew up the damaged bodies of others, as demonstrated with Deidara's arms and Hidan's head.
The most significant aspect of these threads were that they granted Kakuzu a form of immortality (although he declined to think of it that way). In addition to sewing up his injuries, he could use the threads to tear into a victim's body, steal their still functioning organs, and integrate them into his own body, thus extending his life. Kakuzu usually used this method to steal hearts from powerful shinobi, and was able to store up to four spare hearts in his body at any given time (meaning that all hearts must stop functioning in order for Kakuzu to die).
These hearts Kakuzu had taken from others were stored in various animal masks that were sewn onto his back, granting him vast amounts of chakra and numerous elemental affinities. He could detach these masks and have them take on a body of their own, composed entirely of threads. These masks were capable of attacking separately, unleashing devastating blasts of elemental chakra.
These threads could also compact together to form a spider-like body around Kakuzu, allowing him to fuse the attacks of his masks together in order to increase his attacking power.
Earth Release: Earth Spear: With his earth-element mask, Kakuzu can harden his skin to steel-like quality, protecting him from most attacks. It is, however, easily defeated by a lightning-based ability. While active Kakuzu's skin changes to a darker color and his strength drastically increases.
Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work: Kakuzu's fire-element mask spits out a small fireball that erupts into a giant firestorm after hitting the ground, causing widespread destruction to the area. Wind and Fire Blast Technique: Kakuzu's masks use Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work and Wind Release: Pressure Damage at the same time. The creates a blast that is so intense that a standard water technique (ex: Water Release: Water Encampment Wall) can only at most soften some of the impact. It was successfully stopped by Yamato and Naruto's Typhoon Water Vortex Technique.
Lightning Release: False Darkness: Kakuzu's lightning-element mask emits a spear of lightning from its mouth. The spear can then split apart to strike multiple enemies.
Water Clone Technique: The Water Clone Technique is similar to the Shadow Clone Technique except it creates clones out of water. Like other solid clone techniques, the clones can be used to perform tasks the user is unable or unwilling to do for themselves. The range of the clone is limited however, as it can not travel very far from the original body. Additionally, water clones only have one-tenth of the original person's power, as stated by Haku. Like other clone techniques, if the water clones are injured enough they will revert back to normal water.
Water Release: Water Encampment Wall: This defensive jutsu creates a wall of water around the user. This wall of water is especially effective at stopping fire techniques. The wall can be formed from a preexisting water source or by spitting a protective stream of water from the mouth. In the manga the hand seal sequence for this jutsu ends in the same seal that activate the Byakugan, though Tobirama Senju only needs one to use this jutsu. Furthermore, the anime creates a completely original and far more elaborate set of hand seals when Tobirama uses it in the form of having the right hand cupping the left hand with a thumbs-up.
